Corin-MAKO: five-year global distribution agreement

Corin has entered into a five-year global distribution agreement with MAKO Surgical Corp. Under the terms of the agreement, Corin will supply MAKO with a hip implant system for use with MAKO’s RIO® Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System. Subject to FDA clearance, a commercial release in the US by MAKO of the Corin hip implant system is currently planned for the second half of 2011. The agreement also allows for the potential future integration of other Corin implant systems.

MAKO robotic systemRussell Mably, Corin’s Managing Director said: “This agreement marks a major advancement in our strategy as MAKO offer us the opportunity to position our high technology brands alongside the world’s most advanced robotic system.
