Rubio picks September for spinal cord injury awareness
WASHINGTON — These bills were introduced or co-sponsored by U.S. House members from Florida.
• Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., introduced legislation (H.R. 3310) to “preserve access to public waters and maintain the vital role of States in fisheries management decisions.” The bill was introduced on July 29 and has 30 co-sponsors, including Rep. Thomas Rooney, R-Okeechobee. The legislation was referred to the House Natural Resources Committee.
•Rep. Renee J. Ellmers, R-N.C., introduced legislation (H.R. 3294) to “establish a program to assist in the importation and care of abused, injured, or abandoned nonhuman primates.” The bill was introduced on July 29 and was co-sponsored by Reps. Peter A. DeFazio, D-Ore., and Rooney. It was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

•Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, R-Utah, introduced a concurrent resolution (S.Con.Res. 20) “recognizing and honoring the 25th anniversary of the date of enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.” The resolution was introduced on July 28 and has 35 co-sponsors, including Rubio.
