Several independent, combined factors associated with longer length of stay following TKA

An elevated risk for longer hospital length of stay was found among patients with combined lower socioeconomic status, female gender, advanced age, non-Caucasian race/ethnicity and certain comorbidities, according to results.

Among 2,638 patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty (TKA) from 2011 to 2014, researchers collected patients’ sociodemographic information, preoperative comorbidities, the primary indication for surgery, intraoperative factors and postoperative hospital length of stay.
