The 41st Arab Health Congress will focus on the revolutionary change of 3D printing in healthcare
The 3D printing market revenue in healthcare application is expected to cross US$3.89 billion mark by 2022, at an estimated Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 21.9%, calculated between 2016 and 2022.
The healthcare industry is experiencing a revolutionary change in terms of 3D printing in areas such as bio-printing, medical and dental implants, ortho-implants and prosthetics among others. The different materials such as metal, metal alloys, plastics, and ceramics among others are helping the 3D printing technology to easily integrate with the human body. The leading brands in the 3D printing industry are strategically focusing on the healthcare industry by increased number of launches and expansions.
The Global 3D Printing Healthcare Market Estimation and Forecast, 2016-2022, found that medical and dental implants has the largest share in the market in terms of both value and volume. The materials that are used in 3D printing healthcare market are expected to grow to US$1.10 billion by 2022 at an estimated CAGR of 28.7%, between 2016 and 2022. The different materials that are driving the growth of the market are metal & metal alloys, polymers, and ceramics. The report also details the analysis of different technologies that are used in the healthcare 3D printing such as SLS, EBM, and photo-polymerization.
The report found that North America has the highest share in terms of revenue and volume of 3D printers in healthcare industry whereas the Asia-Pacific region is expected to show fastest growth rate by 2022, followed by Europe.
In the Middle East, the 41st Arab Health Congress, which is taking place from January 25–28, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, is hosting a dedicated 3D printing zone that will feature leading global research groups and pioneering technology companies showcasing their cutting-edge products.
“The conference will focus on a new technology called ‘body-on-a-chip’, which has the ability to print mini hearts, livers and blood vessels on a chip. This could potentially provide to more accurate testing for new drugs and eradicate the need for animal testing,” said Simon Page, Managing Director of Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions, organizers of the 2015 Arab Health Congress.
At the zone, visitors will be able to observe and learn from the pioneers in the field of 3D bio printing with – hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations and face-to-face conversations with those who bring these technologies to life. More than 13,000 delegates from 163 countries are expected to attend Arab Health 2016.
