Hoag Orthopedic Institute Named ‘Highest-Rated Hospital’ for Knee and Hip Surgery by Consumer Reports
The hospital is one of only 34 hospitals, in 20 states, to earn the highest rating for hip surgery and one of 128 hospitals, in 34 states, to receive the honor for knee surgery.
“Hoag Orthopedic Institute is honored to be included in this year’s Consumer Reports surgery ratings,” said Dr. Carlos A. Prietto, president and CEO of Hoag Orthopedic Institute. “Our staff truly goes above and beyond every day to ensure our patients are able to get back to doing the things they love to do.”
Consumer Reports rates hospitals based on how well their patients fare during and after elective surgery, including hip and knee replacements. The ratings are based on billing data of a hospital’s Medicare patients.
“Our mission at Hoag Orthopedic Institute is to be a trusted leader in orthopedic care, always putting patient care first, and this ranking is an outstanding, third-party validation of the positive feedback we hear from our patients every day,” added Dr. Robert Gorab, chief medical officer of Hoag Orthopedic Institute. “We know how important and overwhelming it can be to choose the right doctor and we’re confident this accolade will help our patients feel even more confident in entrusting us with their care.”
Hoag Orthopedic Institute, the highest volume provider of joint replacements in California, has received consistent recognition from various publications and health care organizations for its patient-focused services since opening in 2010. This designation comes shortly after receiving Modern Healthcare’s ‘Best Places to Work in Healthcare’ designation. I am 80 and need a hip operation. I guess there is no way my Kaiser insurance and Medi-Care would not allow me to have my operation with your facility? Congratulations on your success.
