The Cartilaginator, which is included in the Advanced Joint Preparation Instruments System, is a novel joint preparation technology that allows the surgeon to quickly and effectively prepare the joint. They are offered in seven unique styles and can be used to prepare various joints in the foot and ankle, including the TN, MTP, 1st TMT and Subtalar joints.
Cartilage removal and joint preparation are crucial yet time-consuming steps in the arthrodesis process. Achieving congruent surfaces while minimizing bone removal has been a persistent challenge. The Cartilaginator is designed to control the depth of joint preparation and minimize bone removal, as well as decrease joint preparation time compared to traditional joint preparation tools.
