TranS1 Inc. Partners With Life Spine, Inc. to Distribute Avatar(TM), a New Minimally Invasive Pedicle Screw System
WILMINGTON, N.C., Jan. 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — TranS1 Inc. (Nasdaq:TSON) a medical device company focused on designing, developing and marketing products that implement its proprietary minimally invasive surgical approach to treat degenerative disc disease and instability affecting the lower lumbar region of the spine, announced today the completion of a new partnership agreement with Life Spine, Inc. to distribute Avatar(TM), a minimally invasive pedicle screw system designed and developed by Life Spine, Inc.

Many of the procedures which utilize the AxiaLIF system also use minimally invasive pedicle screws for posterior fixation.
