MedShape Solutions, Inc. Receives Industry Honors and Awards
ATLANTA, June 14 /PRNewswire/ — MedShape Solutions, Inc. was recently awarded top honors and received the prestigious Gold Award for their MORPHIX™ Suture Anchor at the recent Medical Device + Design Excellence Awards meeting (MDEA). The panel of jurors awarded the MORPHIX™ Anchor the Gold Award based on its superior design and use of a proprietary shape memory polymer, PEEK Altera™. Previous winners of the MDEA award include DePuy, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), Stryker Corporation (SYK) and Smith & Nephew (SNN).
The MORPHIX Anchor is made from a proprietary shape memory PEEK Altera™ that allows the implant to change shape in the body once deployed. The MORPHIX anchor design provides a superior fixation device for orthopedic applications such as rotator cuff repair, tenodesis, and ligament reconstruction of the foot, ankle, knee and elbow. It is the first of many orthopedic devices that are being developed and launched by MedShape Solutions, Inc.
