Leader in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Will Serve as Director of Education for Latin America
BROOMFIELD, Colo., June 10, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lanx, Inc., a privately held global spine company focused on developing and commercializing innovative devices for fusion surgery, today announced that orthopedic surgeon Fernando Villamil, MD, of San Juan, Puerto Rico has joined its Surgeon Advisory Board. Dr. Villamil will also serve as Lanx’s Director of Education for Latin America and oversee training initiatives in the region.

Dr. Villamil is currently the Chief of the Orthopaedic Spine Service at Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital in San Juan. A native of Puerto Rico, Dr. Villamil completed a spine surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School while working at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. With thousands of fusion surgeries performed, he has extensive experience in treating complex spinal conditions.
