Campbell Clinic Surgeon Wins Neer Award

Every year, the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons medical group wades through submitted papers detailing clinical research projects that focus on the shoulder and elbows. The end result: identifying the best, and naming them the Charles S. Neer Award winners for the year.

“He’s the father of shoulder surgery in the U.S., and we’re all his children on one level or another,” said Dr. Quin Throckmorton, a Campbell Clinic surgeon, about the Neer Award’s namesake and his effect on the profession.

The annual awards honor a pioneer in orthopedics whose career spanned half a century. And in early March, at the annual meeting of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons group, Throckmorton was among the latest batch of Neer award winners.
