Expanding Orthopedics Inc. to Showcase the FLXfit™, Its Novel 3D Expandable Interbody TLIF Cage, at ISSAS in Las Vegas

Expanding Orthopedics Inc. (EOI), a privately held medical device company focused on developing and commercializing innovative expandable devices for spine surgery, is excited to announce that the FLXfit™, world’s first articulating and lordotic expandable cage, will be presented at the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS) Meeting in Las Vegas (booth #113).

Former ISASS President, Prof. Le Huec, Head, Ortho-Spine Department, Bordeaux University Hospital, France, will present one-year follow-up data with the FLXfit™: “One Year Follow up of Patients after TLIF Using a 3-dimensional Expandable Cage for Lumbar Fusion with Lordotic Correction“. Data was collected together with Dr. Morrison, Dr. Rigal and Dr. Schnake.

Prof. Le Huec explained that “The FLXfit enables in-situ lordosis correction in a simple and effective surgical procedure. The cage’s unique angular expansion allows to dial in the lordosis angle and to fit it to the patient’s anatomy.” He noted that “all patients underwent a successful instrumented TLIF procedure without any short term complication. Lordosis correction of 8° (± 2.1°) was achieved, allowing restoration of the sagittal alignment with no cage subsidence”.

Mr. Ofer Bokobza, CEO of Expanding Orthopedics, said that “we are excited to present this one year data on the FLXfit™ at the important ISASS Meeting. The data presented by Prof. Le Huec and his colleagues reinforces the clinical benefits of this new technology with emphasis on lumbar lordosis correction to achieve better global sagittal alignment to maintain good balance over time.” Mr. Bokobza stated that “we are continuing to monitor and collect clinical data as we expand the FLXfit™ usage in more US centers”.
