Mount Sinai Expands into Westchester County, New York

Not that spending hours on a train or bus can’t be fun…but now, orthopedic patients in Westchester County, New York don’t have to travel to Manhattan to take advantage of the care delivered by the Mount Sinai Health System.
Westchester County patients are being welcome by team of eight orthopedic surgeons and physicians at the Mount Sinai Doctors location in Scarsdale, New York. Services provided will include pediatric sports medicine, physical therapy, and imaging services including X-rays.
“Our new office in Scarsdale will open up access to Westchester County patients,” said Dr. Leesa Galatz, System Chair of the Department of Orthopedics at the Mount Sinai Health System. “Mount Sinai orthopedics offers talent in all subspecialties of orthopedics and we are now able to extend services in sports medicine, spine, oncology, joint replacement, hand and shoulder surgery to patients in a convenient location so residents don’t have to make the trip into Manhattan to receive world-class care.”

Patients at the Scarsdale office will also have access to primary care, cardiology, gastroenterology, gynecology and other specialties. The new facility, 15,000 square feet, offers same-day appointments and extended hours.
Asked why Westchester was the ideal location, Dr. Galatz told OSN, “We are excited to expand into Westchester County. We have historically served patients from this location, just being in the neighborhood improves access for patients and improves patient satisfaction. The Orthopedic group will complement the many other Mount Sinai physician specialties serving this community. Many patients want to seek care close to home and now we bring our expertise to their doorstep.”
As for challenges, she noted, “With the service interruptions of 2020, we were delayed. However, in the past few months we have operationalized safe, world-class care in a brand-new state-of-the art facility.”
