Tsunami Medical announces launch of Stromboli-J and Giannutri, 3D printed DLIF cages with built-in fixation and expansion features
Modena, May 21, 2021
Tsunami Medical, among the leaders in Spine technology innovation, focusing on additive manufactured solutions for spine surgery and diagnostic invasive procedures, today announces the launch of two additional 3D printed DLIF cage solutions.
Years of cautious research and dedication by Tsunami Medical’s team have culminated with the achievement of a Second Generation of Spinal Fusion solutions. Stromboli-J and Giannutri evolve from the clinically proven First Generation DLIF cage Stromboli.
“Both solutions meet with the standards of successfully proven Bone InGrowth Technology®”, said Stefano Caselli, CEO of the company. “Stromboli-J has a built-in fixation mechanism with pins, which does not compromise the elasticity modulus of the implant. Giannutri has a unique multi-direction extension mechanism, which allows cranial-caudal height extension in combination with amendment to the required lordosis angle by individual extension in anterior and posterior direction.”
Peter Witke, CCO of the company: “Both solutions show excellent stability characteristics and the cages are printed in one step. Implantation and extraction of the pins, extension of height plus the amendment to lordosis angle respectively for these two solutions, are performed with the same introduction instrument.”
Mr. Caselli concludes: “We consider these a meaningful extensions of our DLIF cage family, meeting with international market needs and tender requirements. For further information, please feel free to contact our CCO: peter.witke@tsunamimed.com .”
