Tsunami Medical Announces the Launch of Ortigia-J and Caprera, 3D Printed OLIF Cages with Built-in Fixation and Expansion Features
Modena, June 4th 2021
Tsunami Medical, among the leaders in Spine technology innovation, focusing on additive manufactured solutions for spine surgery and diagnostic invasive procedures, today announces the launch of two additional 3D printed antero-lateral OLIF cage solutions.
Years of cautious research and dedication by Tsunami Medical’s team have culminated with the achievement of a Second Generation of Spinal Fusion solutions. Ortigia-J and Caprera evolve from the clinically proven First Generation antero-lateral OLIF cage Ortigia.
“Both solutions meet with the standards of successfully proven Bone InGrowth Technology®”, said Stefano Caselli, CEO of the company. “Ortigia-J has a built-in fixation mechanism with pins, which does not compromise the elasticity modulus of the implant. Caprera has a unique extension mechanism, which allows enlarging of the footprint by extension in the saggital plane.”
Peter Witke, CCO of the company: “Both solutions show excellent stability characteristics and the cages are printed in one step. Implantation and extraction of the pins, extension of the footprint respectively for these two solutions, are performed with the same introduction instrument.”
Mr. Caselli concludes: “We consider these a meaningful extension of our antero-lateral OLIF cage family, meeting with international market needs and tender requirements. For further information, please feel free to contact our CCO: peter.witke@tsunamimed.com .”
