NanoHive Medical announces Kaveh Khajavi, MD, FACS, FAANS as its new Medical Officer.

BOSTON, Mass., Jan 31, 2022 / OrthoSpineNews / – NanoHive Medical, LLC (formerly HD LifeSciences), a leading innovator in 3D printed, biomimetic spinal interbody fusion solutions, is excited to announce Kaveh Khajavi, MD, FACS, FAANS will be joining their team as its new Medical Officer.

Dr. Khajavi is a leading board certified neurosurgeon and a recognized leader in the field of minimally invasive and complex spine surgery, as well as sports neurosurgery. He received his undergraduate degree from Emory University and his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine through a scholarship from the US Air Force. After completing a neurosurgical residency at the Cleveland Clinic, he returned to active duty and served in the Department of Neurosurgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  He returned to Atlanta in 2002 and founded Georgia Spine & Neurosurgery Center.

Dr. Khajavi has authored many journal articles and book chapters in the field of spinal disorders and has received national recognition for his contributions to the field. He also remains active in clinical research and teaching, and frequently instructs on the latest minimally invasive spinal surgery techniques. He currently holds clinical faculty appointments at Mercer and Georgia State Universities and holds 20 patents related to surgical devices and safety. Dr. Khajavi was the Neurosurgical Consultant for the Atlanta Falcons for 12 years, and served the same role for the Atlanta Thrashers hockey club, Major League Rugby, Rugby ATL, Georgia Swarm, and Georgia State University athletics.
