Lazurite™ to be Showcased at the Medtech Industry’s Leading Event as One of the Industry’s Hottest Companies

CLEVELAND, Oct. 20, 2022 /OrthoSpineNews/ — Medical device and technology company Lazurite™ will be one of 50 early and mid-stage device, diagnostic and digital health companies participating in the 2022 MedTech Innovator Showcase at The MedTech Conference, powered by AdvaMed, Oct. 24-26 in Boston. The MedTech Conference is considered the industry’s largest and most important annual event.

MedTech Innovator, the world’s largest accelerator of medical technology companies, selected the 50 companies from more than 1,000 applications for the 2022 cohort of its flagship four-month Accelerator program, which began in June. Lazurite was selected on account of its breakthrough ArthroFree™ Wireless Surgical Camera System.

In 13 showcase sessions at The MedTech Conference organized around industry themes, four to six Accelerator Program CEOs/Founders will present their technologies and value propositions. Five finalists will go on to compete during the MedTech Innovator Finals, with a live audience vote and the opportunity to win $500,000 in prizes and the title of MedTech Innovator 2022.

In addition to the MedTech Innovator Showcase, Lazurite will also be among a select group of early-stage companies exhibiting in the Innovation Pavilion at The MedTech Conference. Attendees will be able to demo the ArthroFree System and meet with Lazurite representatives at Booth 921.

“We are proud to be part of the MedTech Innovator Accelerator Program,” Lazurite CEO and CofounderEugene Malinskiy said. “It has enabled us to meet a host of key opinion leaders, investors and innovators, and we’re definitely excited by the prospect of vying for the $500,000 in prize money at the MedTech Conference as we move closer to delivery of the first ArthroFree operating room kits.”

The ArthroFree™ Wireless Surgical Camera System is the first wireless surgical camera to receive 510(k) clearance from the Food and Drug Administration for arthroscopy and general endoscopy. The first in-patient use of ArthroFree took place at NYU Langone Orthopedic Center in mid-September and launched the commercialization of the product.

By eliminating conventional camera cables that tether surgeons to the surgical tower and hinder their movement, the ArthroFree System is expected to increase OR efficiency and lower customer costs. Additionally, with its solid state, low heat, high efficiency Meridiem™ light technology, the system promises to eliminate camera related patient burns and OR fires. The modular system is designed to be drop-in compatible with existing patient data consoles, surgical displays and endoscopes found in minimally invasive operating rooms.
