Intellijoint Surgical announces second product approval in Japan; Intellijoint KNEE

Kitchener, ON – March 2024 – Intellijoint Surgical is pleased to announce regulatory approval for Intellijoint KNEE for use in Japan. This milestone marks Intellijoint’s second product for Orthopaedics in the world’s largest computer-assisted surgical navigation market.

Intellijoint KNEE® is enabling technology for Orthopaedic Surgeons, providing real-time measurements of surgical cutting guides during total knee replacement. It is compatible with all implant vendors, allowing the seamless addition of enabling technology to existing product portfolios.

Intellijoint HIP was launched in Japan in June 2021 with great success. World-wide, Intellijoint products have been used in over 50,000 hip and knee replacement cases.

“We are excited to allow additional access to our technology in Japan with our second product entry in the market. We are proud that our Intellijoint KNEE technology will benefit recipients of total knee arthroplasty in Japan” says Armen Bakirtzian, Co-founder and CEO at Intellijoint. “Joint pain impacts people all over the world and it’s our mission to provide every surgeon with the best tools to optimize patient outcomes.”

Bakirtzian continues, “It’s great to see the demand and interest for Intellijoint products, and we anticipate continued growth in Japan through the expansion of  our distribution network for our KNEE product, enabling more surgeons to use our technology for the benefit of their patients.”

Intellijoint is seeking a distribution partner in Japan and open to hearing from interested parties. Please contact Andrew Strain: a.strain@intellijointsurgical.com
