Gramercy Extremity Orthopedics™ Promotes Scott Day to Chief Operating Officer

A new chapter begins for GEO leadership in sterile, RFID-enabled orthopedic medical implants in response to evolving surgical practice and patient need

August 10, 2021

RICHARDSON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Gramercy Extremity Orthopedics (GEO™) announces the promotion of Scott Day to Chief Operating Officer, effective August 9, 2021. Mr. Day has served as GEO Chief Commercial Officer for nearly 2 years, during which time, he has helped guide company expansion, including significant year-to-date growth in 2021, following a challenging year for the U.S. healthcare system. GEO is a leading provider of sterilized, single-use orthopedic implants and instruments.

Having held executive positions with Wright Medical, Stryker, and Orthofix, Scott’s background and expertise gives GEO the opportunity to expand its leadership even further and to deliver sterility and surgical technology in the name of patient safety.

“For the past 18 months, our executive committee has been extremely impressed with Scott’s business acumen, operational execution, and clinical experience,” said GEO Chief Executive Officer, Michael Simpson. “This promotion will give an already proven leader more responsibility over day-to-day operations, which is critical to our success as we launch more sterile-packaged solutions and products in the back-half of 2021.”

“GEO, and by default our segment within orthopedics, is at an inflection point. We are excited to offer leadership in this dynamic space, which is now being driven by the demand for traceable, safe, and efficient inventory controls for hospitals and surgery centers,” said Scott. “In the coming months, we will be announcing new efforts to redefine what we believe is the future of sustainable patient care and to support our surgeons in their essential work as more Americans return to elective surgery.”
