NanoHive Medical Announces Full Launch of Hive™ Standalone ALIF System at North American Spine Society Meeting

Boston, MA, Sept. 28, 2021/ OrthoSpineNews/ – NanoHive Medical, LLC (formerly HD LifeSciences), a leading innovator in 3D printed, biomimetic spinal interbody fusion solutions, announced today the full commercial launch of its Hive Standalone ALIF System. This fixated, Soft Titanium® latticed  3D printed titanium implant system for anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) will be featured at the upcoming North American Spine Society meeting in Boston, Mass, September 29 – October 1 (Booth #1314) and at a NASS Demo Lab (Yellow Lab) on September 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The system is indicated for one and two-level standalone ALIF procedures and will be available in a variety of footprints and lordotic angles to accommodate varying patient anatomies.

Dr. Jaideep Chunduri of Beacon Orthopedics and Spine Medicine, Cincinnati, OH adds, “The new Hive Standalone ALIF cage is a great addition to the company’s best-in-class portfolio of 3D titanium cages.  I like the aggressive screws and endplates that really lock the cage into the space and also the unique graft channels that allow me to inject additional bone graft into the lateral walls of the implants, along with packing the central lumen, to improve the bony ingrowth and fusion through the cage.  I think it is among the best 3D printed titanium ALIF standalone systems in the market.”

Hive Standalone ALIF is the latest addition to the Hive biomimetic portfolio of interbody spinal devices leveraging the company’s proprietary rhombic dodecahedron lattice design. The implants provide surgeons and patients biomechanical elastic modulus properties comparable to PEEK, improved diagnostic imaging capability and osteoblastic cell attraction and integration, features that support strong fusion constructs and efficacious clinical experiences.

NanoHive partners with 3D Systems (NYSE:DDD) to additively manufacture its intricately designed titanium implants, featuring a durable load-bearing lattice for strengthening bone formation. With over two million medical devices printed, two FDA-registered and ISO-certified facilities, as well as over 100 FDA-cleared and CE-marked devices supported, 3D Systems has the expertise and quality processes NanoHive’s Hive implants demand.
